This is such a childish misunderstanding of how independent and ‘centrist’ voters think and act. If you’re going to be smug, have *something* to back that smugness up. The case for Bernie being electable in the general is pretty simple: the center left falls in line and the independent voters (who are not seeking the middle but are looking for someone who credibly campaigns on change) would vote for him. People who went from Obama to Trump were not swayed by either candidates’ attempts to find a middle ground; they were swayed by the promise of a shift from the status quo.
